Starring Yang Zi and Fan Chengcheng, the series
Love Endures, directed by Niu Chao and Ma Chengcheng, was adapted from the popular web novel by writer Ying Shiliu. It tells a story about a group of young people who grow up together and support each other after experiencing separation and reunion.
Since its premiere, the series has been widely discussed for its unique warmth and healing power. To date, the show has earned 1.5 billion views.
Zhong Chengxiang, a researcher at the Central Research Institute of Literature and History, said that
Love Endures is a good work with a solid foundation in ordinary life, distinct aesthetic pursuits and proper values.
Professor Zhang Dexiang, vice chairman of the China Literature and Art Critics Association, said that the series truly captures the social atmosphere of the times when the post-1990 generation grew up, and sincerely demonstrates their growth, acting as a window and perspective to understand this generation.
Producer Zhang Jun shared the creative vision and purpose behind the series as they hope to present a group portrait exclusive to the post-1990 generation. “We feel that the youthful growth of each generation is unique and should be recorded. We can help people regain a youthful outlook through TV dramas,” he said.
Screenwriters Li Yang and Mu Zixin noted that the love portrayed in the series can also be understood as goodwill. Although there are many misfortunes in daily life, goodwill can still heal many things, allowing us to continue to move forward.
