The second stop of the China National Film Museum International Film Exhibition in 2023 - the Spanish Film Exhibition is set to begin on Tuesday.

From December 5 to 10, six Spanish documentaries with different themes and styles produced over the past two years, including Los orígenes del arte, Trance, Cabeza Y Corazón, Yo tenía una vida, Emilia, and El misterio del Pink Flamingo, will be presented together during the six-day exhibition. A total of 12 screenings will show the warmth and passion of the Iberian Peninsula to film fans and the public in winter.

The film Los orígenes del arte (The Origins of Art), produced in 2022, was directed by Carlos Saura, who won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. It is the director's peculiar interpretation of the origin of murals. Trance, also based on cultural inheritance, is a music and road documentary co-produced by Spain and France in 2022.

Cabeza Y Corazón (Head and Heart) is a very inspirational sports documentary filmed in 2022. El misterio del Pink Flamingo (The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo), produced in 2020, is a documentary with comedic elements.

The film Yo tenía una vida (I Had a Life), shot in 2023, is rooted in the reality of Spain. It takes Elena, a senior social worker, as the narrative clue, and Jesus, who has lived on social service and work plans for 10 years, as the main subject. Emilia is a biographical documentary filmed in 2022, which tells the life story of Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921), a Spanish writer, poet, journalist, literary critic, and university professor who devoted herself to promoting women's rights.

The six films strongly reflect the narrative and image of Spanish cinema, as well as the social and cultural aspects, and the attention and explanation of social issues.
