The original drama Qianshao or Outpost produced by the Shanghai Theater Academy was staged at the Peking University Centennial Hall on October 21.

Making its debut at the experimental theater of the Shanghai Theater Academy on February 7, 2021, the drama has been well-received during the past performances.

The new stage version has seen Wang Luoyong, the play's artistic director and the actor who played Chinese writer Lu Xun, actor Hai Yitian and a number of students from Shanghai Theater Academy.

For the lineup of this performance, 90 percent of the actors involved are students born after 2000. The young performers interpreted the courage and passion of young people in the 1930s with the perspective of today's young people.

The story of Outpost takes place in the art college of a university of Shanghai in 2020, as five students were assigned the task to finish a script. The plot follows the five left-wing Chinese writers: Rou Shi, Hu Yepin, Li Weisen, Feng Keng and Yin Fu, who worked with renowned writer Lu Xun.

Lu Xun had worked at Peking University from August 1920 to August 1926 and designed the university's official emblem.
