BJDW was officially opened on Thursday at the permanent site of Beijing Design Week in Zhangjiawan design town, Tongzhou district. The organizing committee of the design week announced that the permanent venue will be built into the China Design Museum in three to five years.

"The design area is changing so fast that with a design museum, there will be relatively regular exhibitions to document the history of Chinese design," Wang said, the China Design Museum will not only "solicit and collect important design items, but also wants to collect digitized original design documents from designers in various fields."

This thematic exhibition pays tribute to the concept of fusing art masters with life and explores their whimsical ideas, which is in line with the concept of design for the people and life that has been emphasized by the BJDW, and creates a connection across time and space.

Through this exhibition, the organizers hope to provide inspiration for artists and designers to think together about how art can be integrated with fashion design and digital technology, so that design can be better integrated into the lives of the public, according to media reports.

Themed of the 2023 BJDW is "Open and Innovation," including design city dialogue, theme exhibitions, and Beijing international children's design week and other sectors.
