An original musical titled Light and Shadow, produced by Youthful Bloom Musical, is set to commence online ticket sales on Tuesday. The musical will premiere at the Erqi Theater in Beijing from June 7 to 9.
Renowned composer Liu Xuandou, known for composing popular theme songs for television and film, serves as the composer, arranger, and music director for the entire musical.
Guo Zhen, associate professor at the China Conservatory of Music and a leading figure in contemporary stage performance art in the new media era, will helm the production as the director.
The musical has been developed by prominent figures in the domestic theater scene, with stage design by Ding Ding, and choreography by Wang Junya. The producers of the musical hope it will help in areas such as incubation and production of more original musicals.
Liu Jing, head of Youthful Bloom Musical, disclosed collaborations with several well-known musical theater actors for future albums and debut concerts focusing on musical theater.
