The "Xinjiang Tour, Entering Aksu" 2024 Short Video Creation and Communication Conference kicked off in Beijing on Wednesday. Young short video creators from China and abroad contributed their works to the event to showcase the natural beauty and cultural charm of Aksu.
The Aksu Prefecture in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has a long history of rich cultural heritages. It has witnessed many notable moments in the history of cultural exchanges, the integration of ethnic groups, and the development of trade and commerce.
"Aksu, as an important strategic hub on the Silk Road, has played an irreplaceable role in the communication, integration, and mutual learning of Eastern and Western civilizations. Interpreting Aksu through popular short video creation and dissemination methods has important contemporary significance," said Xu Weixin, chairperson of the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy.
"Such videos will enable the world's youth to see the story of Aksu and the positive momentum of Xinjiang's development. We want to take the opportunity to invite young audio and video creators to Aksu for on-site shooting, and use their lenses to convey a diverse and objective Aksu to the world."
