The ongoing Dragon Chants in Bazhong exhibition is not only a display of the integration of technology and tradi-tional aesthetics, but also an example of how old factories, like the former Bazhong Silk Factory in Bazhong, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, can be transformed into cultural and creative parks.
According to the exhibition's curator Wang Zhigang, the exhibition featuring a number of Chinese new media artists, including Yi Shan, Liao Yibai and Lin Wanshan, brings something new to the Bacheng Memory Cultural and Creative Industrial Park.
Through digital animation, digital sculpture, AI animation, lighting installations, interactive art and other di-verse media types, the artists explore the possibilities surrounding the integration of technology and art, materials and concepts.
Through the visual language of digital media, artists have reinterpreted the relationship between nature and humanity, using digital technology to transform natural landscapes and cultural heritage into vivid visual art.
Highlights are a dragon-shaped installation made of silk and a digital interactive artwork integrating elements of the Year of the Dragon temple fairs. It shows how technology can inject new life into artistic creation and also symbolizes the innovative application of traditional materials and blessings for 2024, the Year of the Dragon, in China.
The exhibition is set to run until March 7.
