A Chinese zodiac design competition exhibition is currently displaying hundreds of related sculptures, paintings and creative products at Beihai Park in Beijing.

In addition to the 72 awarded works from the Chinese zodiac design competition, another 35 works from modern artists and 120 Chinese dragon zodiac paintings created jointly by students and teachers from the Central Academy of Fine Arts are also among the exhibits.

Through this very creative activity, the collision and sublimation of tradition and fashion are displayed through the language of contemporary art, presenting rich connotations of the Chinese zodiac and the profound charm of zodiac designs.

"These creative works offer me a window to learn something about Chinese zodiac culture that I didn't know," said a tourist surnamed Quan from Central China's Hunan Province.

The exhibition is scheduled to last until March 11, giving visitors a chance to understand a different side of Chinese zodiac culture with the unique interpretations of these works.

To broaden the audience base, the exhibition has also introduced an online version for traditional Chinese culture lovers and design enthusiasts worldwide.
