NSO releases 2024 concert season 

China National Symphony Orchestra will not only have a series of concerts featuring a number of heavyweight musicians such as Liao Changyong, Zhu Huiling and Shi Yijie, but also work together with the world's top musicians like David Hoose, Andreas Delfs and Hubert Soudant in the upcom-ing year of 2024, according to the newly released 2024 Concert Season by the orchestra.

As 2024 marks a series of important days, the orchestra will also host concerts for the 200th anni-versary of the birth of symphony giant Anton Bruckner, the 160th anniversary of the birth of Rich-ard Strauss, the 100th anniversary of the death of Puccini, and the 175th anniversary of the death of Fryderyk Chopin. Classical music fans will be spoiled for choice with major works and high-quality performances throughout the year.

Zhou Yu, the Party chief of the China National Symphony Orchestra said, "The China National Symphony Orchestra will bring the highest level of artistic enjoyment to audiences across the coun-try with the most complete devotion and the most extreme performance."

The opening concert will be staged by conductor Shui Lan and baritone Liao Changyong with the concert Footsteps of Giants on January 14, 2024, at the concert hall of the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Conductor David Hoose and cellist Lee Youngeun will work together on January 27, 2024, for the concert Romantic Colors to mark the 200th anniversary of Bruckner's birth.  


First Silk Road international theater conference held    

The First Silk Road International Theater Alliance Investment Conference was held in both Haikou and Dongfang in South China's Hainan Province from Thursday to Sunday.

More than 60 invited guests, experts, and representatives from domestic and international member units of the Silk Road International Theater Alliance, theaters and performance institutions were invited to the event.

On Friday, a stage work promotion meeting was also held at the Hainan Provincial Museum, where invited guests who participated in the Liangzhu Forum such as the person in charge of the Mexico City Theater System, the general manager of the Esperanza Iris Theater in Mexico City, the art con-sultant of the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico and others gave keynote speeches. 

A cultural Transaction Forum was held on Saturday. The round-table forum event focused on the introduction of excellent plays going overseas, explored new modes of theater operation and man-agement in the future and discussed new paths and models for the development of the performing arts market under the background of the modern technological revolution.
