The 2023 Cumulus Annual Conference opened at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing on Saturday.
Cumulus, one of the largest and most influential international academic organizations in the world, aims to promote international exchange and cooperation among design schools in teaching, research and practice.
This conference is a historic opportunity for the Central Academy of Fine Arts to promote the exchange and cooperation of art and design education between China and other parts of the world. It is expected to pay attention to the high-quality and sustainable development of global art and design education with educators from all over the world on the basis of respecting cultural diversity, and work together to promote the cultivation of future-oriented art and design talents.
The theme of this forum is Interpretation of Love, which aims to explore the expression and interpretation of love in art and design from different cultures and perspectives.
The delegates will conduct multi-dimensional exchanges and discussions through paper presentations, exhibitions and workshops. Scholars from China, Italy and other countries will jointly explore the power and meaning of love, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of design research.
Song Xiewei, the Dean of the School of Design at CAFA, expressed his hope to stimulate more innovative thinking and academic exchanges through this conference.
