For three nights in a row from October 19 to 21, William Shakespeare's classic play Hamlet will be staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing.

For 400 years, Hamlet has attracted countless dramatists and researchers.

By telling the story of Prince Hamlet's revenge, Hamlet unveils the true side of British and European society in the late Renaissance.

The play is part of Shakespeare's Four Great Tragedies together with Macbeth, King Lear and Othello.

It has profound tragic significance, complex characters and rich artistic techniques, and represents the highest achievement of Western Renaissance literature.

In order to continue to explore the artistic essence of this drama master, the NCPA is once again putting Shakespeare's plays on its stage.

The NCPA has specially invited director Chen Xinyi to direct this classic play, which will be performed by outstanding young actors from the center.

The play has also invited dancer Wang Wenwei to join the show.
