Longyou County in East China's Zhejiang Province has finally embraced an art festival with artists from home and abroad.
The Longyou Liquid Threads Art Festival was launched by a group of artistic young people who returned to Longyou after working outside.
According to the festival's planner, Wu Qinfen, the festival is inspired by the county's long traditions and water culture.
The South Gate Historical Culture Streets, Xi'kou town, and four sub-areas in the county will feature rural construction projects by over 120 public artists and 27 student organizations from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China Academy of Art, Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, Jingdezhen Ceramics University, Hubei Sculpture Institute, and other institutions.
Curator Ding Nan explained that water has always been rooted in Chinese culture since ancient times. It can be seen as a new form of contemporary art, allowing the public to better understand and experience the connection between nature and people, life and civilization through various art creations. It aims to discover new possibilities for innovating ancient village culture.
An art forum was also held to host various discussions on art education, residence projects, and relevant services.
The art festival is scheduled to run until December 26.
