The 11th China Folk Art Festival is scheduled to take place from September 25 to 28 in Leshan, Southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The festival is expected to showcase diverse folk performances from across the country, according to a Wednesday report by the Xinhua News Agency.

This festival promises to be a grand celebration of traditional Chinese folk art, featuring over 50 distinct regional performance styles, including crosstalk, sketch comedy, clapper ballads (kuaiban), Jingyun dagu (stories told in Beijing dialect with drum accompaniment), Suzhou ballad singing, and storytelling from Shaanxi.

The festival will feature a total of nine diverse and engaging performances, including opening and closing ceremonies, special showcases of outstanding southern and northern regional folk art, dedicated presentations of Sichuan folk art and exhibitions of excellent Sichuan folk theater.

Hosted by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Quyi Artists Association, this year's festival aims to showcase the recent achievements in Chinese folk art creativity and performances, highlighting the flourishing development of these art forms while capturing the spirit and dedication of folk artists and enthusiasts, according to the Xinhua report.

At this year's Festival, renowned national artists and more than 600 folk art performers and practitioners from all over the country will gather in Leshan to showcase hundreds of folk art performances, according to media report.
