Produced by the Beijing Performing Arts Group and performed by the Beijing Children Art Theatre, the Beijing series of children's plays Sanya the Cat's Rooftop Adventure, Uncle Mouse Wakes Up Late, and The Old Dog Got into Trouble were performed at the Nanluo Theatre on Friday. The live event was also broadcast live on more than 50 mainstream media platforms. The trilogy will continue to have more than 30 summer performances from July 29 to September 10.

Adapted from the children's literature works of the same name by Ye Guangqin, a famous Beijing writer, the trilogy is a series of children's stories set in Beijing in the 1950s. The trilogy vividly tells the story of Beijing girl Ya Ya's innocent, youthful, and beautiful childhood, while showing readers the local customs of Beijing.

Its play adaptations have been performed nearly 100 times, and have been hailed as the "ceiling-level" for children's play by media, experts and audiences.

The trilogy on stage emphasizes drama while staying true to the literary works, making it a perfect fusion of literature and drama.
