Recently, a tourism campaign was held by ProColombia to showcase Colombia's rich cultural heritage, magnificent natural wonders and distinctive cultural ambiance to the world. It also improves friendly relations between China and Colombia.

The Colombian Ambassador Sergio Cabrera delivered a speech at the event, saying that Colombia has the capacity to host tourism events, conferences and exhibitions, and through ProColombia, the Colombian Trade and Investment Tourism Board, wants to showcase the business culture and international objectives of making Colombia the best tourism and emerging business destination in the world.

"Colombia and China have a strong friendship and that the trend of recovery and openness of the world in any form has a direct impact on the recovery of tourism. Today, Colombia is ready to receive all kinds of tourism activities and projects with all kinds of incentives, in terms of transport links, tourist attractions and quality infrastructure," Cabrera stated.

Natalia Tobón, commercial counselor at the embassy, introduced the characteristics and advantages of Colombia's industry and tourism culture.

"We have been recognized by UNESCO for our cultural and natural wealth. We have nine World Heritage Sites, the most distinctive of which is the Coffee Cultural Landscape, a place that the Chinese will surely love because people can experience the culture behind the coffee industry," she told the Global Times.

The ambassador also noted that bilateral relations will be further strengthened with the reopening of the market and the planned presidential state visit.

At the end of the event, the embassy offered various Colombian specialties such as coffee, chocolate and others to participants.
